Our approach

From raw talent to sustainable livelihood.

CYEF is not built around one-off discovery. The foundation walks with young people from the first sign of potential to the platforms, mentors, skills, funding, and opportunities that help them build a life.

Talent-to-opportunity model

A practical pathway for overlooked young people.

Talent is visible in classrooms, pitches, community stages, and small creative spaces across Kenya. What is often missing is the bridge between that talent and a real opportunity. CYEF's model closes that gap through a full journey: discovery, development, equipping, visibility, connection, mentorship, funding, and long-term livelihood support.

01

Discover Talent

CYEF goes into communities, schools, tournaments, and performance spaces to find young people with real ability, especially those least likely to be discovered through formal systems.

02

Develop Talent

Training, coaching, rehearsals, competitions, and skill-building turn raw ability into craft, discipline, confidence, and readiness.

03

Equip Young People

Young people receive practical tools, knowledge, life skills, digital exposure, learning resources, and technical support needed to move from potential to performance.

04

Showcase Talent

CYEF opens stages, tournaments, media platforms, and public moments where young people can be seen by audiences, scouts, partners, mentors, and decision-makers.

05

Connect to Opportunities

Promising youth are linked to scholarships, academies, clubs, industry contacts, creative platforms, and income-generating opportunities aligned with their talent.

06

Mentor and Fund Talent

Mentors help young people understand the path ahead, while targeted support removes financial barriers that would otherwise stop growth.

07

Scale Sustainable Livelihoods

The aim is not a single breakthrough moment. CYEF supports young people to turn talent into a lasting, dignified livelihood that can support families and transform communities.

What makes this model different

CYEF stays close after the talent is discovered.

Discovery alone can create attention without support. CYEF's work is stronger when each platform is connected to training, safeguarding, mentorship, exposure, opportunity matching, and follow-up.

  • Schools, sport, comedy, music, and conservation are treated as connected entry points.
  • Children and youth are protected through safeguarding standards, consent, and supervised access.
  • Partners can support at different points in the journey: training, resources, scholarships, mentorship, venues, platforms, or funding.
